in case you have not heard yet the panelists met in the meantime with 
the parties and have agreed the following timetable for the case
 
Preliminary timetable  ** subject to change


Submission of complainants by 7 April
Submission of EC by 12 May
Submissions of third parties by 24 May
Scientific advisory by 27 May
Oral hearing 2 June
Hearing with third parties 3 June

Final report by panel September/October


Hower the European Commission has now used another trick to slow down 
the process and clarify the legal accusations from the US led side. They 
have asked for preliminary ruling by the WTO on the request the US, 
Canada and Argentina made to establish a panel in August. The Commission 
argues now that the legal claims are not clear and contradictory 
(although the request was already made in summer last year).

The preliminary ruling is expected now beginning of April and THEN we 
should have a clearer picture about the approximate timeline. This 
preliminary ruling will only rule whether the US led coalition has 
correctly submitted a request to establish a panel on legal grounds or 
not. If the WTO rules in favour of the EU, then the US led coalition 
will have to clarify their request and this will slow down the process 
further. If the WTO rules in favour of the US and thinks the request was 
legally correct, then we can expect the timeline to run as outlined above.
