Hello Everybody,

Two publications have ripened at MiCT, giving us something to toast, just in time for the warm season. MiCT has the pleasure of inviting you to the launch of Afghanistan Today's inaugural magazine as well as the first 2015 edition of The Niles.

"Picking up the pieces" is a collection of the best features and photography from the online news platform afghanistan-today.org
From their bases in 20 provinces in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Afghanistan Today journalists face daily threats to bring fresh, untold stories from remote communities. All photos and stories are AT originals, and provide unique insight into a region that is often in the news, but not often understood.

"People on the move," the fifth edition of MiCT's news and training platform theniles.org, documents the journeys of the 4.5 million Sudanese and South Sudanese fleeing war, hunger and poverty in both countries.
Following the migrants' routes to neighbouring villages, fast-expanding cities or the other side of the globe, The Niles' journalists reveal diverse experiences with a recurring theme: When you leave home, the familiar is lost but the essential remains.

Join us for some delicious Afghan BBQ and cold drinks with the editors on our terrace and pick up a free copy!

Where and when: 6:00 pm on Thursday, the 28th of May 2015 at MiCT, Brunnenstrasse 9, Berlin

RSVP by the 18th of May!

We look forward to seeing you!

All the best,
Klaas Glenewinkel
