Training Manual on Civic Education for Media Professionals
(RfPA)   "Civic Education for Media. A Training Manual", written by Prof. Fackson Banda and published by UNESCO, is a resource for media practitioners, providing them with essential knowledge for the analysis of the relationship between media and democracy.
The training manual aims specifically to raise greater civic consciousness among media professionals about the democratic role of the media in transitional democracies, to enhance the civic competence of media practitioners to aid them in their reporting of civic affairs, and to encourage greater prioritisation of civic news among media.
At the end of the publication, a list of practical exercises, as well as of useful websites, provide the reader with a series of useful practical tools supplementing the theoretical component of the manual.
