<P><SPAN trebuchet="">The training manual aims specifically to raise greater civic consciousness among media professionals about the democratic role of the media in transitional democracies, to enhance the civic competence of media practitioners to aid them in their reporting of civic affairs, and to encourage greater prioritisation of civic news among media.</SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN trebuchet="">At the end of the publication, a list of practical exercises, as well as of useful websites, provide the reader with a series of useful practical tools supplementing the theoretical component of the manual.</SPAN></P>
