Access Info Europe (www.access-info.org) is an international human rights organisation, based in Madrid, which works to promote a strong and functioning right of access to information in Europe and contributing to the development of this right globally. The Network for Reporting on Eastern Europe n-ost (www.n-ost.de) is an international journalistic NGO, based in Berlin focusing on a better coverage of CEE/CIS-issues in German-speaking print-media and the promotion of media freedom.

Access Info Europe and n-ost are managing a project which will be providing training journalists on how to use the access to information laws from across Europe. We will also provide training on data security issues and computer assisted reporting. We will promote networking between journalists from across Europe, including South East Europe, to facilitate their research in different countries and on transnational issues. There will be ongoing legal support from national FOI groups and from a helpdesk and network of lawyers for those filing access to information requests. 

To ensure the successful management of the whole project Access Info Europe and n-ost are looking for a

Project Coordinator 


Qualifications:

practical experience in journalism and journalistic training 

relevant experience in project management and fundraising skills

knowledge and experience of media freedom and access to information issues is an advantage

readiness to travel throughout Europe (the Council of Europe region)

fluent English and German, and preferably one eastern European language

strong communication skills

Responsibilities, Functions and General Objectives:

together with Access Info Europe- and n-ost-staff and further project-partners you will ensure the successful management of the whole project

looking for longer-term funding of the whole project

you will be based in Berlin

Our offer

contract for at least six months

Salary commensurate with experience and responsibilities

working on an interesting international project as part of a motivated international team
