Hallo,

ich bin seit zwei Monaten in Nairobi/ Kenia bei der Organisation MYSA im Bereich Medienentwicklungszusammenarbeit im Rahmen des GLEN Programms taetig. Bis Ende Oktober wird das Programm noch laufen. Die Organisation ist momentan auf der Suche nach Studenten oder Absolventen, die meinen Kollegen und mich Ende Oktober diesen Jahres im Rahmen eines Praktikums `ersetzen´ wollen. 

Anbei sende ich Ihnen die Praktikumsausschreibung. Eventuell koennen sie diese an Interessierte weiterreichen.

  Internship at MYSA´s Shootback Program – Nairobi, Kenya
  MYSA (Mathare Youth Sport Association) is a pioneering community development project in Nairobi which links sport with environmental cleanups, AIDS prevention and media work. Started in 1987 as a small self-help project to organize sport events and cleanups within Mathare, one of the biggest slums in Africa, MYSA has grown to an internationally renowned youth serving organization which has twice been nominated for the Nobel Peace Price. 
  MYSA´s Shootback program is a community media project which gives the most disadvantaged people of the community a chance to raise their voice: children and youths. Through Shootback young people have the chance to tell their own stories about their everyday lives in the Mathare slum by using different forms of media: Photo, video, radio and writing. Shootback encourages diversity, creativity and participation – the media as a tool for self emancipation through self participation is the main focus of the program.
  The Shootback Program is currently looking for Communications and Journalism/ PR students who want to attend a 3-6 months internship in its office in Nairobi/ Kenya.
  The main tasks include:
   
  ·        Teaching the members of the Shootback program skills in photography, video shooting, photo and video editing and/ or journalism and public relations
  ·        Writing and researching articles on relevant news for the Shootback website and its quarterly magazine SEMA
  ·        Producing reports and documentaries for the monthly program SLUM-TV
  ·        Writing articles for PR and funding purposes; doing research for new donors and fundings
   
  Requirements: 
   
  ·        Experience in journalism/ public relations and practical media work – eg. knowledge of photography, Mini DV cameras and programs such as Final Cut Pro and Photoshop 
  ·        Good command of the English language – both oral and written
  ·        Reliable, dependable and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  ·        Ideally some experience in teaching, youth work and development cooperation
