Support for L7x has also improved a bit long time ago when we added
Lithuanian and Latvian patterns to TL (and now that Lithuanians are
attending BachoTeX on regular basis it's even more important :). There
were almost no fonts supporting L7x if any (at least outside of VTeX)
and for the Polish developers it was not that much overhead to add
another encoding or to address the issues.

But I wouldn't request any more 8-bit fonts nowadays even if LM
already has the full character set covered.
