I don't have the time to read the document right now (sorry), but one
note about terminology:  When you use the term "hyphenation patterns"
you're referring to, e.g., file "wortliste" in our repository, right?

What I consider hyphenation patterns is the output of Patgen.  The input
of Patgen is a list of hyphenated words.  Well, and file "wortliste" is
a database of words in textual format with hyphenation attributes.
Pretty long term, indeed. ;-)  Perhaps "textual word database" would do,
too.
