Hello everyone,

I would like to announce the launch of *SoniqPen Studio*, a new web-based
tool for creating interactive content for audio pens such as tiptoi,
Bookii, and similar devices.

Before anything else, I want to explicitly acknowledge *Joachim’s work on
TTTool*. TTTool made it possible for many people—including myself—to
understand how these pens work and to start experimenting with them.
SoniqPen Studio would not exist without that foundation.

I originally got started after my daughter received a tiptoi pen as a gift
from relatives in Germany. Around the same time, I was looking for my next
professional step and decided to dive deeply into this space. What began as
exploration gradually turned into a full-time project.

SoniqPen Studio focuses on authoring workflows: creating pages, regions,
audio mappings, and exporting projects for supported pens. It is intended
for parents, teachers, and creators who want a more visual and structured
way to build interactive books and activities, while relying on the same
underlying formats and principles the community already knows.

I have been working on this project full-time for the past months,
iterating, fixing bugs, and refining workflows until it felt solid enough
to share. *The Studio is free to use, and I intend to keep it free.* At the
same time, I am treating it as a serious, long-term project, and I hope it
can eventually become sustainable through community interest, feedback, and
contributions.

*Easiest way to get started*

One simple way to try the Studio is with an existing children’s book in PDF
form:

   -

Find a book PDF (for example from freekidsbooks.org).
   -

Make sure the PDF has selectable text. If not, pass it through an online
PDF OCR tool, or open it in a recent version of Chrome, verify that text is
selectable, then print as file to PDF (overwriting the original).
   -

Create a new *Photo project* in SoniqPen Studio and import the PDF.

The Studio will automatically create all pages and text regions, with
spoken audio for all detected text. You can then add more regions, assign
different character voices, print the result to PDF, export it to a pen,
and enjoy a new interactive book with your children.

Another approach is to create a PDF from photos of an existing physical
book and import it into a *Sticker project*. All detected text will be
spoken; you can then print the generated stickers (multiple templates are
available) and apply them to the original book to make it interactive.

*Multi-language support* is built in. You can automatically translate the
content into any chosen language and create a multi-lingual book from the
original in just a minute. A printable language switcher is generated as
well, allowing children to change the active language directly in the book.

I am very much looking forward to feedback—technical, conceptual, or
critical. You can reply directly on this mailing list, write to

726 274 872*.

Thank you again to Joachim and to everyone who has contributed tools,
documentation, and ideas over the years. I hope SoniqPen Studio can become
a useful addition to that shared effort.

Best regards,
Marius
