[smartmontools-support] Unknown USB bridge [0x0578:0x0578 (0x202)] and procedure

Hello,

I have bought a M2.SATA (not NMVE) USB3 External Case as well as a M2.SATA
disk:

- The case is from Wanfocyu but the USB is recognized as "Intrinsix Corp."
by lsusb. (ASIN B07TJQ4FJF)
- The disk is a Western Digital - WD Blue SSD - SSD interne 1To M.2 SATA 3D
NAND (ASIN B073SB2MXT)

smartctl (7.1) fails to recognize the USB bridge, and thus the disk:

    $ smartctl --info
'/dev/disk/by-id/usb-WDC_WDS_100T2B0B-00YS70_DD5641988387387397-0:0'
    smartctl 7.1 2019-12-30 r5022 [x86_64-linux-4.19.97-gentoo-x86_64]
(local build)
    Copyright (C) 2002-19, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke,
www.smartmontools.org
    /dev/disk/by-id/usb-WDC_WDS_100T2B0B-00YS70_DD5641988387387397-0:0:
Unknown USB bridge [0x0578:0x0578 (0x202)]

Whilst lsusb understand it as being from Intrinsix:

    $ lsusb
    Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0578:0578 Intrinsix Corp.

On Windows (terminal is git bash, cmd.exe does not change anything to the
output), the same disk was seen as scsi using smartctl --scan:

  $ /e/apps/portable/smartmontools/bin/smartctl.exe --scan
  /dev/sdg -d scsi # /dev/sdg, SCSI device
  $ /e/apps/portable/smartmontools/bin/smartctl.exe --scan-open
  # /dev/sdg -d scsi # /dev/sdg, SCSI device open failed:
\\.\PhysicalDrive6: Open failed, Error=5

Thus, on Linux, I tried to pass -d scsi, and -d sat (the result are below):

- With scsi SMART attributes are not recognized.
- With sat it work better, but I presume it might not be good on all
attributes ("SMART Status not supported: Incomplete response, ATA output
registers missing")

Should I issue a database entry ?

Regards,
Baldurien
