I am using the same USB bridge, and I now suspect that it is faulty. Now
when I connect the SSD to my arm dev board it does not create a /dev/sdb
device, instead I get lots of kernel messages like:
Jul 26 23:25:44 central kernel: [ 4356.473769] usb 1-1: new high-speed
USB device number 105 using ehci-platform
Jul 26 23:25:45 central kernel: [ 4357.357721] usb 1-1: device not
accepting address 105, error -71
(The number increments by two every 5 seconds or so)
I did run "smartctl -r ioctl,2 -icAH" on my ubuntu desktop using both
the offending USB bridge, and an eSATA socket on the motherboard. Both
reports are attached.
