[smartmontools-support] Meaning of Device-to-host register FISes sent due to a COMRESET Phy Event counter

Hello list,
I recently exchanged my laptop's Seagate ST500LM000-SSHD-8GB SSHD drive
for a Intel 545s SSD (smartctl -x attached). While monitoring the
counters during the past week, I noticed that in the Phy Event counter
section, the counter "Device-to-host register FISes sent due to a
COMRESET"

ID Size Value Description
0x0001 2 0 Command failed due to ICRC error
0x0005 2 0 R_ERR response for non-data FIS
0x000a 2 21 Device-to-host register FISes sent due to a COMRESET
increases whenever a) the computer is rebooted, b) the computer is put
into standby, but whenver I do (a) the counter just accumulates (as
shown above) while when doing (b) the counter oscillates between 2 and
3. This is under a Linux 4.14.19 kernel on a Thinkpad x240.
Since I'm seeing no ATA errors in dmesg nor performance or other
problems with the device, I imagine that these COMRESETs are just part
of the regular host<>device SATA conversation.
Is this true, or do I have to worry / should exchange the device / fix a
cable or suchlike?
