 Genau daran _muss_ es liegen!

 Ich hatte das Problem auch schon mal mit Outlook an Postfix/Dovecot.

 Es muss definitiv LOGIN als Auth-Mech von Dovecot angeboten werden
 (bei Dovecot-SASL).

 BTW: Bei LOGIN darf IIRC auch das Passwort nicht zu lang sein.

 Am besten mal mit telnet/s_client testen, ob SMTP-Auth mit LOGIN an
 Deinem Server funktioniert!
