Der Pfad der smtpd.conf bei der Debian-Postfix-Sonder-Edition.

mech_list bedeutet, dass Postfix nur die beiden Mechanismen dem CLient 
anbietet.

Hier ist aber mehr zu sehen. Das ist ein sehr gutes Indiez dafür, dass die 
smtpd.conf nicht gelesen wurde. Also verwendest Du wohl nicht die 
"Debian-Postfix-Sonder-Edition", sondern hast Postfix selber gebaut und 
installiert. 

Dann ist der richtige Pfad für die smtpd.conf in /usr/lib/sasl2/. Mv sie dahin 
und probier es nochmal.
