hallo,

nehme alles zurück - der hier war´s mal wieder:

cat /etc/syslog.conf

mail.*                          -/var/log/mail.log

# Logging for the mail system.  Split it up so that
# it is easy to write scripts to parse these files.

#mail.info                      -/var/log/mail.log
#mail.warn                      -/var/log/mail.log
#mail.err                       /var/log/mail.log

nach dem auskommentieren und neustarten des sysklogd ist alles wieder 
in butter.


diese besch ... standardeinstellung bei debian - schon so oft drauf 
reingefallen ....
