Dear Maite Mola,

I would also like to know the result of the debate on individual members and
I note it is a week since Norbert asked politely.  As I have been engaged in
this discussion since the Founding Conference in Rome in 2004 I think it is
time it is given a little more urgent priority.  Certainly for me the result
of this debate will determine whether or not I will maintain a connection
with EL.  As the Assistant General Secretary of a UK trade union I have
found the trade union network a useful body to attend from time to time. I
have also attended the Congresses in Prague and Paris, Summer Schools in
Portugal and Paris but I have concluded whilst these events have been
interesting, without a forum for individual members, particularly in a
country with no national party, it is pointless being involved long term in
something if the structures do not evolve after eight years to provide a
place for a section of membership the constitution says it wants.

If EL simply wants to be a party of parties then openly say so.  At least
then we’ll know.
