Nobert,

 

I have been involved since 2004, attending the founding Conference in Rome,
2nd in Prague and 3rd in Paris.  The Executive Board are not in the
slightest bit interested in developing individual membership.  The Left in
Germany were supportive but have given up, the French Communists and
Synpaspismos in Greece have been particularly against in the past any form
of rights for individual members.

 

I too have stopped making any contribution, which I guess menas I am not a
member anymore, but no-one has noticed, because I believe no-one cares
enough to do anything about it.  Trying to do anything about it ourselves is
hard because we need allies in the parties and haven’t got enough.

 

I still attend the Trade Union Network when I can, but I’m seriously
considering what my future is with the European Left.

 

I would be happy to sign your letter, but I don’t hold out much hope that it
will do any good.

Dear all,
I'm using this mail to go in contact with you. Hopefully this will work.
I would like to ask you all to give me a feedback on the following idea.
 
Next days there will be a meeting of the Ex-Board (?) in Paris. This meeting
will take place roughly 9 months after the Paris Party Congress. Since this
congress the board had a lot of meetings around the globe during which never
ever was the discussed the issue of our rights, the rights as Individual
members in the Party. So finally (after being for years – since Athens - a
member without any rights) I would ask you to send a letter from our side to
the Board meeting asking to find urgently a solution and to involve us in
this process / decision how the solutions should looks like. I personally
stopped 9 months ago to pay my Party contribution (no rights - no
obligations) but nobody is caring about that.  
Would someone be interested to write together with me this letter and to
sign it.
