  Dear Mr. Uli

Thanks for sending me up-date on the above. I understand and realize
the situation in its totality. Can also easily imagine the desperation
amongst the communist community there. However their appeal to European
Parliament to save and support the democratic set up there to me is
asking for right cause from the wrong people. As per my understanding
the claimants of democracies in our world are mostly those who rely on
Capitalist cradle for their political systems. So none of these powers
who matter in world affairs, believe or practice a common phenomena
pertaining to democratic set-up around the globe. USA with backing of
UK and other European fellow beneficiaries of world resources arranged
pre-controlled elections in Iraq, banning Bath, Communist and Sunni
Based Groups there. The same strategy was adopted in Afghanistan. The
results of fairy held elections in Palestine, Algeria and Iran are not
accepted. The Popular Governments in Cuba and Venezuela are simply
rejected by these world powers. On the other hand the staunch
opposition to their policies with in their own societies is challenged by the
very same rulers of these democracies. So I don't expect any kind of
support from Western ruling parties. They are the firm believers of Marriage
of Convenience. Yes this cause can be supported at public level in these
Western Societies, basing on people to people contacts. This is the
only way to acquire popular support with in and out side the suffering
country.

Thanks and Kind Regards,

  Shakir Ali, Syed

  Hi all,

I just had a first glance at Syed's long contribution about illiteracy in Pakistan.
It seemed rather interesting, but I didn't have the time to really READ it yet.
Syed, since Pakistan is - at the moment - not a core issue of European debates,
would you please let us know whether you'd like to discuss this with us or
whether it is just for information. Thanks. Also: Who was the author?

I attach an appeal forwarded by our list member Lena. Does anyone know more
about the reasons (official and true ones) to try and ban this party?
Are they in any way violent, Stalinist or revolutionary? (unfiortunately they don't
publish their political agenda in English on the internet).

I regret I don't know anything about the source and time of its origin. But as you see
below the Czech MEP sent it this week.

Kind regards

Uli
