Dear Uli,
As it now seems that our world is heading for much more severe turmoil. So far the Imperialist forces have maintained their hegemony to some extent though with difficulties. There is a sharp resistance to their designs through out the world. On the other hand there is no progressive counter state to challenge them. What ever resistance exists it is entirely indigenous and has mass support from the people of various region. The NGOS are playing mandated rule across the world. However NGOS in no way can replace Political Parties, Politics to be run and managed by Political Parties only. In the absence of organized and capable force like Soviet Union in past how do you foresee the re-emergence of Communist Movement in our world. How it is expected to shape up and play a leading rule in our present times.
The Imperialist Economies are not self sustained. Exploitation is their fundamental essence and intermittent crisis is the integral result of these economies. The present adventure taken by UK and USA is the very well advance planning of capturing world resources to entertain their future needs. What out comes of these brutal adventures do you foresee in future? Remember we don't have immediate counter power to check these tendencies.

Hi all, hi Joseph, hi Martin,
I think Joseph's suggestions on making the EL known in the public etc. are really good.
A demo in Strasbourg on May 1st, organised jointly by ETUC and EL, would show that we have strong
allies and speak for the people. I think our Brussels office and the GUE/NGL group in the European Parliament have
contacts with the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC ). Maybe MArtin can say sth. about this option.
I'm afraid the ETUC will not make an alliance just with us. They seem quite PES-friendly and might try to take
other parties in for a demo to retain their non-partisan image. But you never know... I think we should try it.
The EL already intervenes by official declarations of support of different memberparties of EL in some national political debates and elections from time to time, especially by statements on our website. I think EL-representatives should be seen and
speak to the people more often in election campaigns and other events.
Maybe during the campaign in France in spring the communist party of France should ask the EL to send representatives
to hold speeches that are then translated or held in French. We have to make sure such statements are not just
solidarity addresses but promote the common EL goals preparing the people for a possible 2009 EP-election with
truly European parties.
E-petitions to our Executive Board, especially if sent in a large number, might get on the ExB's nerves more than really helping us. But Joseph, you could write a letter/e-mail to them/to Helmut Scholz with our/your suggestions as you did in your last e-mail to our mailing list. How about that?
Kind regards
Uli
