on the occasion of this year's International Women's Day on 8 March, DW Akademie has published a study on "A feminist take on media development - How media development projects empower women and marginalised groups".

Since 2023, Germany has been committed to pursuing a feminist foreign and development policy. But how can media development contribute to realizing these goals? A new publication by DW Akademie explores this question for the first time.

The publication examines project examples from around the world and establishes links between media development and feminist development cooperation.  It shows that media development has much to contribute to feminist development cooperation. Whether raising awareness through media coverage, networking and community building or supporting women and marginalized groups in the production of media - the possibilities are manifold.
