Experienced qualitative researchers sought for paid short-term projects
as part of The Media Map Project. The Project is studying the role of
foreign assistance in shaping the development of media. The Media Map
Project is a collaboration among Internews, the World Bank Institute,
and the Brookings Institution. Candidates should have research
experience in one of four countries: Mali, DRC, Peru, or Indonesia.
Relevant language fluency required.

Residents of these countries encouraged to apply. The research will
consist of both desk and field research (interviews and focus groups),
over a period of approximately 2 months. Work will consist of writing
interview guides, arranging and performing interviews and focus groups,
analyzing the data, and producing a final report that combines both desk
and field research. The research for Mali and Peru will take place at
the end of 2011 - beginning of 2012; the research in DRC and Indonesia
will be during the first half of 2011 (exact timing TBA and negotiable).
An ideal candidate is a solid researcher, knowledgeable about the
relevant country, good communicator, good with deadlines, and likes
working in a team as well as independently.
