INVITATION:
Media in Cooperation and Transition (MICT) is glad to invite you to
'Sudan Votes – Media as a Mediator?', a discussion about the state of
the media landscape in Sudan as the country prepares for elections for
the first time in over twenty years.

We will be discussing the perspectives of media election coverage in a
country ravaged by decades of Civil War. Questions of identity,
independence and censorship will be scrutinised by our guests, Faisal
Mohamed Saleh and Roman Deckert.

About the speakers:
Faisal Mohamed Saleh is a prominent media activist and director of the
Khartoum-based NGO Teeba Press. He is also a regular columnist for the
Sudanese newspaper Al-Akhbar.

Roman Deckert has been working on and in Sudan since 1997, both in the
political and cultural field. He is now researcher and project manager
for Sudan at MICT.

Moderation: Klaas Glenewinkel

Join us after the discussion for some chat and and a glass of wine.
