So | is for prefixes and _ for Nottrennung? PLease correct me if I am wrong.

OK ,but the prefix ver is also a word in itself, also in this context, so:

   signaal-ruisverhouding;sig-naal~ruis=.ver=houd-ing

would also be correct for Dutch.

So, in short, for hyphenation we use mainly horizontal symbols -=_.~|

And for logical components, we use vertical symbols such as {/} [|] <|>

About the latter group, I would like to propose {/} [/] </> so we use
less different symbols. What do you think? Do you agree it will make it
easier to use.
