Liebe Solidarische,

am Dienstag, 2. Mai 2017, kommt Filippos Polatsidis um 18h ins 
RegenbogenCafé, Lausitzer Straße 22a, 10999 Berlin-Kreuzberg. Er wird 
über Neuigkeiten des Projekts Pervolarides berichten, und wir möchten 
gemeinsam beratschlagen, wie wir deren Aktivitäten unterstützen können, 
unter dem Motto "Greece: 7 years of austerity policies, 7 years of 
self-organization and resistance".

Das Gespräch wird auf Englisch stattfinden. Bei Bedarf für Übersetzungen 
werden wir Wege finden.

Weiter unten findet Ihr eine kurze Info von Filippos über die 
Aktivitäten von Pervolarides, sowie Wünsche, was wir hier tun könnten 
(engl.).

"Zweimal war Filippos Polatsidis von der Selbsthilfeinitiative 
Pervolarides im letzten Jahr in Deutschland. In verschiedenen Städten 
berichtete er über das Projekt, unter anderem im September in der 
Nachbarschaftsakademie der Berliner Prinzessinnengärten, bei einem 
Workshop der SoliOli-Kampagne im Rahmen der Wandelwoche. 
Teilnehmer*innen einer Solidaritätsreise nach Griechenland, über die in 
den letzten beiden Ausgaben von Contraste berichtet wurde, trafen 
Filippos und seine Mitstreiter*innen in Thessaloniki."

Our solidarity work focuses on different projects, so i will try to

- We rent a basement and our intention is to create a "solidarity node" 
in it.
- We distribute fishes, groceries and raw food materials, from various 
donours (fellow citizens.

school items etc depending on the donations we get.
- We have started a bee-keeping collective with the help of the 
"Soli-Oli" campaign.
- We have raised money to help families make arrangements with the 
Electricity company.
- We plan to provide supportive learning lessons for pupils, depending 
on the teachers' availability.
- We will organize tomato sauce and marmelade preparation for the 
families we support with their involvement.

Our aim is to support and engage in our actions as many people as we can.

The help that might come from the German people might be the following:

- Fight against austerity policies in your own country.
- Open discussion and debates about Europe and its policies.
- Provide us with connections to trade unions, grassroots movements 
inside and outside of Germany.
- Campaigns for selling Greek honey and other goods, like the "Soli-Oli" 
campaign.
- Donations in materials, like: medicines, raw food materials, hygiene 
items, school items.
- Donations in bee-keeping materials from corresponding grass roots 
initiatives.
- Donations in money to support the expenses of our "solidarity node" 
and transportation costs (collection and distribution of food).
- Families "adoption": German citizens helping directly Greek citizens 
deal with the everyday expenses, like electricity bills, water bills etc.
