Hi Carsten

Sorry, this won't be a direct answer to your question concerning the smartd daemon, but you can of course also use other methods to regularly check for the SMART attribute values and be notified when the values change. Take a look at https://github.com/Napsty/check_smart where you can set thresholds.

cheers

ck

On Tue, Sep 10, 2019 at 9:19 AM Carsten Schmitz <carsten.schmitz@limesurvey.org> wrote:

When I look at the smartclt output I can see the value also as RAW value, but the SMART count did not degrade

My questions are:

How serious is this error? The number of Offline_Uncorrectable
seems to be stable right now.

Why isn't the SMART value decreasing and still at 100? (I assume
it is because the damage is still very small).

If it is not critical to swap this disc right now, how can I
prevent that I get the notification from smartd every day?
Basically I only want to be notified when the values are changing,
again.

Thank you in advance for any insight you might be able to give.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards
