Hi

In the past, I've occasionally seen that the Device Ids (the value after megaraid,) did not start at 0.

Check out the excellent http://hwraid.le-vert.net/wiki/LSIMegaRAIDSAS#a4.SMART to see if this is the underlying cause for your observation.
