Hi,
On one disk (external, via USB) the long smart test is aborted, I don't know
why, and it never completes. This is the data:

I have another identical disk and it suffers the same problem. But other
two external disk, half the size, don't exhibit the problem.
It says "aborted by host". How, why? What can I do to impede this
abortion? The machine runs 24/7 and that disk is currently not mounted.
Yesterday night I initiated the long test manually, and it aborted. I
started it again, and it aborted again at 80%.

add '-t force' option to override, or run 'smartctl -X' to abort test.

Perhaps it is that the disk enters SLEEP mode? But that would be "aborted
because of sleep mode", not "aborted by host". And why does it enter sleep
mode in the middle of a test?
If that is the problem, perhaps I have to do an 'ls' every minute to impede
the disk from sleeping. :-?
