[Pirateninfo] Biopiracy in Asia / Biopiraterie in Asien - Events on BUKO 31; Fr., 9. + Sa., 10.5.2008

Guten Tag,

auf dem BUKO 31, 9.-12.5. in Dortmund wird es am Samstag, 10.5., vier Workshops und eine Round-Table-Veranstaltung zu Biopiraterie in Asien, speziell Indien, Pakistan und China geben. Alle VA sind zweisprachig englisch/deutsch.

Die genaueren Beschreibungen sind in englisch und deutsch auf den anhängenden Flugblätter zu finden; ich würde mich freuen, wenn diese an Bekannte und Interessierte weiterleitet würden - und natürlich wäre es auch schön, sich in Dortmund am nächsten Wochenende zu sehen.


The BUKO-Campaign against Biopiracy organizes in cooperation with Thana (India) on the BUKO 31 in Dortmund on the 9th and 10th of May some workshops and plenary sessions on biopiracy in Asia, especially in India, China and Pakistan.

The main events are the following:

Saturday, May 10: 10–11.30 am 	Workshops:

„Biopiracy in Kerala – Benefit Sharing for whom?�
with Ms. Ushakumari Jayakumar (Thanal, Kerala), Coordinator of the Indian Campaign on Rice and active member of the network GM Free India.

„Conservation and Threats to Biodiversity in China�
with Dr. Yang, Song (PEAC, Yunnan Province, China)


Saturday, May 10: 12–1.30 pm 	Workshops:

„Seed Diversity and Food Sovereignty in India�
with Mr. Jacob Nellithanam (Richharia Campaign, Chattisgarh, Indien)

„Biopiracy in Pakistan�
with Dr. Farzana Shahid (Lok Sanjh, Pakistan)


Saturday, May 10: 3-6 pm 	Round Table-Discussion

"Alternatives to the Commodification of Nature and Knowledge" Round-Table-Discussion
