Dear Waltraud,

Thank you very much for your letter.  

I think your willingness and the willingness of the Statute Commission to
explore options for individual members and your preparedness to meet is very
encouraging and I am very grateful for your interest and sincerity.  

Your willingness to take things forward means I am prepared to keep trying
with the European Left Party.  I am more than happy to see what we can do
back the other way in relation to campaigning.

I will forward you some thoughts on how things might work in due course.  I
have to first prepare my report to the Trade Union Network in Vienna in May,
which I will prepare when my work as a professional trade union official
allows.  

I have for example just finished working all weekend training union
activists in organising in the UK.  Last time it was in Moldova for Moldovan
and Belarus trade unionists in the cultural sector, so time is precious.

I know you cannot meet in Vienna and I understand why, you are also very
busy with the struggle.  Perhaps you can suggest when and where might be
possible for you.  I travel in Europe quite a bit with my work.  In the next
few months I will be in Istanbul and Brussels for example.  If our diaries
match, I am happy to meet you and your comrade Jiri.

please find attached a letter concerning individual members in the EL, that
informs you about the discussion we had in the statute commission. I want to
stress the fact that Jiri and I are more than willing to meet you as was
said in the letter and discuss in detail to make the most out of the
exisiting possibilities in the statutes.
