On 22 October 2009 at 16.00 was arrested by police Boguslaw Zietek 
President of the Free Trade Union of August 80. He was arrested at the 
request of prosecutor's office in Wroclaw, which is conducting an 
investigation against the activists of the Free Trade Union "August 80" 
and trade union of "illegal" strike at the factory organization 
FagorMastercook group. Earlier, police searched the apartments of 
several trade unionists.
The case, however, has a political subtext. On Oct 23, was plamed 
manifestation of their employees Betting Hipolit Cegielski Poznan, who 
suppose to lead Boguslaw Zietek. Cegielski betting is one of the largest 
industrial plants in Poznań, which produces engines for aircraft. After 
the collapse of the Polish shipbuilding industry (in Polish adverse 
decisions of the European Commission) the company is facing serious 
crisis, and the crew despite redundancies do not receive severance. The 
owner of the plant is the Treasury, and the demonstration was to be 
imposed on government policy.
Situation is criticized by all the opposition parties. According to 
Stanislaw Wziątek from Democratic Left Alliance Ziętek was arrested 
because of a demonstration planned for tomorrow in Poznan. "Ziętek is 
not a person who is humble, does not use the word censorship."
This is not the first persecution against trade unionists from the FTU 
August 80 Media report, inter alia, the eavesdropping of phone calls. 
That is the issue of Polish democracy of Donald Tusk (Prime Minister) 
and the ruling Civic Platform.
FTU August 80 announced that the issue will be reported to the 
Commission on Human Rights Euro Parliament.
