We can change Europe

For the 2009 elections to the European Parliament the Party of the European
Left adopted a common electoral platform based on the principles of peace,
democracy, social justice and solidarity. In the run-up to the European
elections on 4-7 June 2009 the parties of the European Left campaign
together and for these goals in the various European countries. For all

5 years of European Left

It was just the beginning... "The Party of the European Left has grown up
and become a significant actor on the political scene", states Lothar Bisky,
the chairman of the European Left. On 9 May 2004 the Party of the European
Left was founded in Rome. 5 years later, the proposals contained in the
common electoral platform exemplify that the European Left can change
European politics concretely. READ

all over Europe to call on the EU governments to take appropriate measures
against the growing crisis, which is mainly hitting the workers and weaker

demonstrations, amongst them around 45,000 were on the streets of Brussels
on Friday. READ

A Left without Feminism is not Left

"How Feminist is the Left? - How Left is Feminism?" was the motto of a
conference of the feminist network of the EL (EL Fem), which was organised
by EL FemA (the Austrian women of the EL Fem network) on 20-22 March. The EL
Fem network is constituted of women from left parties and of non-party
allied women from all over Europe. This diversity was reflected in the
contents brought up by the 150 participants who had come to Vienna from all
different parts of Europe and presented left demands from a feminist
perspective. READ
