Hello list

I just managed to joined the EL as individual member.

I won't have to explain that I'm attached to the left.  My reason to  
join the EL is that the national parties while doing worthwhile stuff  
at local and regional level tend to totally miss the point when it  
comes to European issues and remain blinded by nationalism -- at  
least that's my experience from having grown up in Switzerland (where  
I used to be a member of the SP), having lived in Scotland (not  
joining the SSP), and staying now in the Netherlands (only shortly a  
member of the SP).

Hence I certainly do support the motion of having individual members  
represented on the EB.

While I'm feeling lucky to have got a response after one month of  
sending a fax to the EL (I remember no way of contacting the office  
electronically) ... in an earlier attempt, 2005ish, I got no answer  
at all ... I could imagine it would be good to ease that process if  
we're aiming to boost membership  (I could actually give you a hand  
if needed).

Lastly, I hope to be able to connect to other individual members,  
maybe in the area, but certainly first through this list.
