[Individual-members-EL] changes to the statute

Hi all,

i asked someone from the german leftparty delegation for the next el
congress.... she told me at the moment there is no fixed termin for that.
there is also nothing to find on internet so i think she?s right. apparent
the board of the el has to fix a termin and make an invitation for that next
party congress.
anyway for the next congress we are not able to have any delegation entitled
to vote there. for that the group of individual members is to small at the
moment. but in any case we should send a delegation there with "guest
status" and sure with the right to speak on that congress. i think our
mainfocus at the moment must set "to recruit" more individual members over
whole europe.

best regards,
Mike

Hi all,

after reading the first couple of comments I still waited a bit because I
actually thought that more people might suggest changes to the changes or
express their will to go and get the rights that we deserve but that we
haven’t got yet.
This is a place for active participation and not primarily for excellent
English. So join the discussions at whatever level of English.

I agree with your critical views of the changes to art.6(2). It was my
intention to include s.th. which those might like who dislike the idea of
individual members having a voice and right to vote in the EL bodies as
everybody else has.
Maybe Joseph is right and further inclusion is necessary, also of people who
are members of a national competitor of an EL party. But some national
parties might be afraid of this and of infiltration.

Anyway, here is a new suggestion that hopefully gets your consent:
(attachment).

The list of a possible new composition of EL delegates would only work out
for 2009 or whenever the
Subsequent Congress takes place (after the next one has approved our
motions), and then the individuals might have two, not zero delegates (my
mistake).

I got two more questions to you:

-Are we as a supranational structure of the EL able – technically and
legally – to elect delegates via internet
(e-mail)?

-When the heck is the next Congress???

I’d like to present this or another joint proposal by the 40 (?) of us from
the network of individual members to
Helmut Scholz, Secretary of the EL ExB, around the end of September. I think
talking to members of the ExB about it is imperative in order to get it
through.

Take care

Uli
