I am very satisfied our suggested motions will be discussed by the ExB



About the institutional propositions of the Greens for reforming EU, I 
totally agree with them, especially on the double referendum. As a supporter 
of democratizing EU institutions and a opponent of the new treaty project of 
2005, I want the people to take part into creation of a new Constitution to 
EU. I have yet one question: in this project who would prepare the new 
draft? For me, it should be made by a Constituing European Parliament, then 
accepted by double referendum.


About the internal functioning of EL, I think that the most urgent is to get 
known by citizens, before having a real european ExB (that is to say with a 
smaller figure of members than the figure of national parties which created 
the party). Anyway our system of individual membership (and all the more 
since our motions are accepted) is the most significant element of the whole 
thing. That is the real new thing. If we succeed in getting known by EU 
citizens and if we get new individual members of every EU country 
(especially if individual members are more numerous than members from 
national parties), the ExB will follow. However if you need some help in 
negociating to obtain already an european ExB, we could make some 
e-petitions to the ExB ( the argumenting based on comparison with the Greens 
is a good way to convince, but for some national parties  I think it will be 
difficult to accept, will see...).

For me the number one thing is to get new individual members that's why I 
agree with your propositions of continuing flyers, making events or things 
like that. I already prepared a french version of the German flyer and I 
sent it to Mike Nagler, but I don't know how we could print it.

Besides, I have several ideas of events:

like organizing a big european demonstration (perhaps with trade unions like 
the European Trade Union Confederation) in Strasbourg on first of May, 
something which could be a very significant way to let the whole european 
media speak about the party. Do you know if they are some contact with the 
ETUC?

This demonstration would underline the european side of the EL, it would 
also be useful to underline the very democratical functioning of the party 
if we individual members can be represented (it means if our suggested 
motions are accepted)

like organizing european trips and festivals to be known all over EU. It 
could be a way for us to be known, to be familiar for a lot of european 
citizens.

We could ask the EL to intervene by official declarations of support of 
different memberparties of EL in some national political debates and 
elections in whole EU (also you know in France we have presidential 
elections in May). Making official support declarations is not really 
difficult but could be a way to exist. Or we could ask memberparties to let 
us speak during their campaign. If we want some european transnational party 
we have to know the different european public opinions, political systems 
and political life. Then to build a european public opinion, an european 
political conscious. And we have already now to show our concrete existence, 
to show that what we share is political ideas and propositions, that to have 
a society we want, European level is the best.

Anyway that are only little ideas, most of them more symbolic than really 
political.
