so long and that it is preventing herbstluftwm to progress...

About this 0.7.1 release: there has been a race condition in the main
loop. This race condition was always there, but seems to appear only
since a recent Xorg version that went life on arch systems somewhen at
the beginning of 2018. If you notice that starting up herbstluftwm hangs
and clicking or pressing keys help, then you are probably affected and
this release should help.

This release also includes further numerous bug fixes. If you notice
any misbehaviour, please file a bug on github. Thanks to all who
work on herbstluftwm and support it :-)

The signed release tarball can be found at the usual location[1], as
well as the NEWS file[2].
