Am 28. Februar 2026 griffen die USA und Israel erneut den Iran an – trotz laufender, nur kurz unterbrochener Atomverhandlungen im Oman. Laut Präsident Trump geht es um einen „Regimewechsel” in Teheran. Doch ungeachtet der „Ausschaltung” von Revolutionsführer Khamanei und anderer erweist sich das politische System als stabil. Stattdessen weitet sich der Krieg auf immer mehr Länder aus. Nahostexperte und SPIEGEL-Bestsellerautor Michael Lüders wirft einen kritischen Blick auf vermeintliche Wahrheiten im Nahen Osten und stellt wichtige Fragen: Greift der Iran tatsächlich nach der Atombombe? Will er Israel „vernichten”, wie stets behauptet wird? Wie kam es zur Iranischen Revolution? Welchen Anteil trägt der Westen an der Gründung der Islamischen Republik 1979?
