Das ermöglicht es, Geschäfte mit der Gesundheit zu betreiben. Neoliberale Reformen, Privatisierungen öffentlicher Dienstleistungen und die Krisenpolitik der europäischen Union haben daraus seit Jahren in Europa einen sich verstärkenden Trend werden lassen. Im globalen Rahmen wird Gesundheitspolitik damit noch defizitärer, als sie es ohnehin schon lange ist. In der seit mehr als zwei Jahren anhaltenden Pandemie haben wir dafür die Quittung bekommen.</span></span></p><span style="font-weight:normal">

</span><p style="font-size:10pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Calibri'"><span style="font-weight:normal">Dabei ist auch der seit Jahrzehnten wohlbekannte Zusammenhang von Armut und Gesundheit für alle unübersehbar geworden. Immer schon starben Arme früher als Reiche, Arme sind öfter und schwerer krank, Arme haben in der Pandemie eine höhere Ansteckungsrate, sowohl national in den reichen Ländern wie zwischen den Ländern, Arme leiden ökonomisch mehr unter den Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Pandemie.</span></span></p><span style="font-weight:normal">

</span><p style="font-size:10pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Calibri'"><span style="font-weight:normal">Aber nicht nur die direkte Armut ist ein Gesundheitsrisiko, sondern auch die materielle Ungleichheit in einer Gesellschaft. Zahlreiche Forschungen haben nachgewiesen, dass Krankheiten aller Art in einer Gesellschaft umso virulenter sind, je ungleicher der Reichtum verteilt ist, je weiter die Einkommensschere auseinanderklafft.</span></span></p><span style="font-weight:normal">

Seit nunmehr 25 Jahren ist diese Veranstaltung ein Treffpunkt fortschrittlicher, emanzipatorischer Aktivist*innen, Beschäftigter, Wissenschaftler*innen oder einfach Interessierter aus dem Gesundheitswesen.
