Es wirkt auf vielfältige Weise und für unterschiedliche Bevölkerungsgruppen befreiend. Von Hartz IV Betroffene würden durch ein BGE ebenso Entlastung erfahren wie Erwerbstätige. Einerseits senkt die Bedingungslosigkeit eines BGE den Aufwand, Behörden gegenüber Nachweise erbringen zu müssen und erhöht durch anfänglich freie Zuverdienstmöglichkeiten die Motivation zur Erwerbsarbeit. Andererseits wären auch Sorgen von Erwerbstätigen vor einem finanziellen Absturz geringer.
