Dear GENET-news readers,

at the last GENET member meeting in January 2006 it has been decided that
GENET should work in two distinct areas:
-	networking, with a focus on the work on GMO free regions;
-	information, through email lists and internet pages.

Because of the limited budget available, it has been further decided that
GENET should pay the networking person from the membership fees. The
information person should be financed through the GENET Information Fund.
This Fund should be filled with money from different sources as
foundations and additional member support.

Some money could be raised in the last months - many thanks to the
donors! - but not enough to secure the continous information work as it
has been done in the last years. Due to the ceased financial resources
the work on the GENET-news and GENET-forum email lists has to be
terminated now.

GENET of course appreciates if you were able to support us in raising
funds to continue the information work.
