*CALL FOR MEMBERS OF FYEG Working Group on Digital Rights *
The future of information society is being shaped in the lobbies of
national and European level institutions. The loudest voice is not the voice
of people but of corporations. The point of view is not openness, sharing or
freedom of information but that of control, censorship and surveillance.
Therefore, FYEG - Federation of Young European Greens - is looking for
young green volunteers willing to take on the challenge of discussing and
resolving issues related to human rights in context of digital technologies
in FYEG's working group (WG) on digital rights.
Moreover,in April this year, FYEG applied for a grant to the European Youth
Foundation for organizing a wintercamp on issues related to Digital Rights.
If approved we have a big event to plan and to organize together!
*To join the WG on Digital Rights or obtain more information, please send
an email to maggie at fyeg.org not later than 31st of May 2011. Please include
a motivation letter where you explain your motivation to join and an
official recommendation letter from the National board of your organisation.
Please make sure that you include:
email address, home address, phone number, date and place of birth
Members of the Wg are always free to take initiative about what they would
like to achieve as a part of their activities in the this group.
*What are working groups? *
*Working groups are FYEGs think tanks according to FYEGs Internal Rules of
Procedure. They gather groups of FYEG members who would like to work on a
particular topic: gather knowledge, examine cases, lobby for solutions. WGs
will be given a mailing list. The members also communicate via Wiki and
arranged meetings and activities.*
*Working groups can be seen as places for internal discussion, but they can
also serve other needs: prepare activities for FYEG to carry out, train own
and other members, propose resolutions for the federation and share best
practices between the member organisations.*
*There is so much we could do together in this WG!*
*With hope to receive lots of applications, looking forward to work with
