International Youth Summer Festival

in the framework of a day-camp

on the base of "New Age" Language Centre

Tallinn, Estonia,

July 21-August 4, 2003 

Aim of the project:

The Project is to promote friendship and mutual
understanding between peers of various nationalities
from different countries by getting them involved into
different projects according their preferences
(theatre, dance, art); to help the teenagers
understand their responsibility for the future peace
in the world by organizing discussions and debates, as
well as let foreign participants get acquainted with
history and modern life in Estonia, a new country in
the open world. 
Dates of the Camp: 21.07 - 3.08.2003 

Language of the Camp: English 

Participants: Teenagers from Estonia and other

aged 15-17 y.o. 

Required language level (for non-speakers): 

Pre-Intermediate and above 

Camp Leaders: Volunteers not younger than 19 y.o.

Required language level(for non-speakers): 

Upper-Intermediate and above 
Programme of the Camp: 

Sightseeing tours and excursions around Tallinn 
one of the most beautiful medieval towns in 

Europe with its legends and modern life.

Trips to the countryside - with picnic and songs at
the bonfire. 
Theatre workshop and dance studio - participants will
stage a play and learn some modern and folk dances. 
Reporter's class - participants of the reporter's
class will be taught by a professional journalist how
to take interviews and make surveys, they will also
make video film about the camp life. 

Art studio - participants will take part in the
project Global Youth Murals (PTPI). 
Sport events, games, contests - outdoor activities for
Discussions and debates on burning issues of modern
life - participants will discuss ways how to prevent
violence and to promote peace and friendship in human
relations, starting with their classrooms and
neighbourhood and up to international affairs. 
Final Performance - presentation of all the studios'

Daily Timetable: 

9.00 - 10.00 am - Opening: presentation of the theme 

of the day.

10.00 - 12.00 am - Workshops, studios, classes 


12.00 - 1.00 pm - Interviews / games.

1.00- 2.00 pm - Lunch

2.00 - 5.00 pm - Tours and excursions; rest on the 

beach; sport events and games.

5.00 - 6.00 pm - Closing: discussions and debates. 
Participation Fee:

200 EUR (included: meal + excursions + activities +

accomodation - homestay with local families)
