<p>Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates
the training of journalists and media producers, programme and
content development, radio and film production, magazine and
book publishing, media research and monitoring, in addition to
supporting the financial viability of our partners. <br>
<br>
<u><b>MiCT is looking for a full time PROJECT MANAGER (m/f/d)
for it's Head Office Berlin</b></u><br>
<br>
Main tasks: The Project Manager will be responsible for
ensuring successful implementation of donor funded media
development projects. S/he will be responsible for providing
leadership, content and administrative oversight and ensuring
direct management of all activities related to the project(s).<br>
<br>
<u>Project management</u><br>
- Ensure proper and timely implementation of all project
activities<br>
- Risk and mitigation management<br>
- Report on progress of activities to MiCT managing director
and to donors<br>
- Selection of and engagement with international trainers,
coaches, experts, and consultants<br>
- Organize project-related conferences and meetings<br>
<br>
<u>Team and partner management</u><br>
- Lead the project team consisting of team members in Berlin
and the project country(s)<br>
- Manage and include the team's expertise in the design and
implementation of all activities<br>
- Support and control the local team members in planning and
implementation of activities<br>
- Engage with intern / external M&E experts around
monitoring and evaluation processes<br>
<br>
<u>Project development</u><br>
- Monitor and analyse current development in the region,
particularly in the media sector<br>
- Present the project at conferences and meetings<br>
- Assess needs of local partners and project participants<br>
- Participate in MiCTs project development and proposal
writing processes<br>
<br>
<u>Project and finance administration</u><br>
- Responsible for budget planning and monitoring<br>
- Responsible for continuous budget / expenditure comparison<br>
- Coordinate all project related contracts and procurement
issues with finance department<br>
- Control and approve external invoices<br>
<br>
<u>Requirements</u><br>
- University degree (Masters or equiv.) in social studies,
politics, humanities, law, media & communication studies
or related field<br>
- At least five years of work experience in project management<br>
- Experience in donor funded developments projects (in
particular European Union, German Ministries, and UN
Organizations) is an advantage<br>
- Willingness to do organizational work (logistical,
technical, conceptual)<br>
- Strong interest in media development, promotion of
journalism, freedom of the press, media financing and related
topics<br>
- Regional experience in MiCT's project regions is an
advantage <br>
- Willingness to travel to the project regions<br>
- Excellent oral and written English skills; knowledge of
German is an advantage<br>
- Very good MS Office skills<br>
- German citizenship or valid work permit for Germany<br>
<br>
This is a full time position at MiCT’s Head Office Berlin,
initially for a limited period of six months. MiCT is aiming
for longer-term employment beyond this period.<br>
