<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>I’m excited to share that Just Labs and FGHR have just published a new paper, <A href="https://www.openglobalrights.org/partnerships/the-narrative-hub/"><I>Narrative Spices: An invitational guide for flavorful human rights</I></A>. Achieving “narrative change” out in the world, we argue, is not just a matter of defining better narrative recipes, but of nurturing the creativity and reflection of the cooks themselves.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>The culmination of three years of work supporting groups in <B>Mexico</B>, <B>Hungary</B>, <B>Venezuela</B>, <B>Australia</B>, and <B>Sri Lanka</B> to explore narrative research and imagine and develop creative shifts in their practice, this document mixes lessons and examples from the teams we supported along with ideas, wisdom, and research that has inspired us on our journey.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>As you know through your own narratives work and collaboration through Vuka!, vocabularies of “narratives” and “narrative change” have become a touchpoint for many practitioners seeking to transform the relationship that communities around the world have to human rights, justice, and social change. In the rush to adapt to the ways that narratives are weaponized against rights, <B>we often chase better recipes—forgetting that the best food comes from creative, passionate, and inspired cooks. </B><o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>Our “invitational guide” offers a different way to think about and approach narrative work in human rights. Rather than talking about formulas or specific strategies, we focus on “spices”—different elements and entry points that human rights practitioners can explore, mix, and “cook” with. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
