<DIV>As you must be aware, the protest movement in Hong Kong since 2019 reveals how freedom of expression is suppressed, among other human right violations. Confrontation between civilians and the state-security (the HK police force) reached its tensest moment in the “siege of Poly U” in Nov 2019. Protesters and students were circled in on the campus, first aiders were arrested and prevented from rendering medical aid to the wounded. </DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>It is only one incident of state violence against civilians and on massive scale. The reporters of the online news platform “CitizenNews” on the ground have compiled their first hand visual records to reconstruct the days of horror. The work is entitled “SavePolyU”, zooming into the emotions and confusions among the trapped and those who preserve and lose hopes. The documentation is being screened in community setting in Hong Kong. </DIV>

<DIV>I have also the wish to bring the film to screen in Berlin, subject to clearance with the news platform, among journalist and also bigger communities, so to update their information on the human right violation in Hong Kong. The issue is not an ideological question but that of existence. </DIV>

<DIV>I would be grateful for any pointer regarding possibility to organize screenings - private small groups or maybe online with restricted access, that is intended to facilitate discussion with the journalists behind the film or with activists who can share in-depth view on the situation. </DIV>
