                              <div>MiCT’s services comprise the training
                                of journalists and media producers,
                                program and content development, radio
                                and film production, magazine and book
                                publishing, as well as media research
                                and monitoring in conflict regions.</div>
                              <div>Through its activities, MiCT aims to
                                foster the transformation of conflict
                                towards reconciliation, and encourage
                                dialogue among conflicting factions
                                within society. The focal point is the
                                interaction and interdependence of media
                                and conflict.<br>
                                Supporting media cooperation, media
                                networking and media development, as
                                well as capacity building in the field
                                of journalism is recognized as the key
                                factor in conflict transition.</div>

                              <div>MiCT is looking for a PROJECT OFFICER
                                (Berlin, full-time)</div>
                              <div><br clear="none">
                              </div>
                              <div>The Project Officer provides
                                administrative and organizational
                                support to the Project Manager in
                                ensuring successful implementation of
                                donor funded media development projects
                                in the MENA region with a specific focus
                                on Iraq.</div>

                              </div>
                              <div>Main Tasks</div>
                              <div>• Administrative support for the
                                project manager, including scheduling,
                                travel logistics, and expense accounting</div>
                              <div>• Cooperation with the project team
                                in project country / countries</div>
                              <div>• Workshop organization and logistics
                                in Germany and / or project countries
                                incl. workshop accounting</div>
                              <div>• Audit of invoices / expenses
                                according to donor specifications and
                                recording of expenses</div>
                              <div>• Audit / supervision of project
                                finances and financial reporting
                                according to donor specifications (in
                                German and English language)</div>
                              <div>• Support of the project manager in
                                budget monitoring and updating</div>
                              <div>• Responsible for administrative
                                handing or contract and procurement
                                issues according to donor specifications</div>
                              <div>• Draft narrative project reports</div>
                              <div>• Support the Project Manger in
                                drafting narrative project proposals and
                                budgets</div>

                              <div>Profile</div>
                              <div>• Bachelor's or Master's degree in
                                economics, finance, accounting, or
                                equivalent qualification</div>
                              <div>• At least two years work experience
                                with donor funded projects, sound
                                knowledge of project accounting</div>
                              <div>• Experience with financial
                                guidelines and directives of the EU, UN
                                agencies, or German donors (AA, BMZ) is
                                a strong advantage</div>
                              <div>• Work experience in the MENA region
                                is an advantage</div>
                              <div>• Strong intercultural competence and
                                empathy, especially sensitivity to
                                (inter) cultural differences in
                                communication</div>
                              <div>• Willingness to travel to project
                                countries</div>
                              <div>• Confident handling of MS Office /
                                Internet standard software</div>
                              <div>• Fluency in English and German,
                                working knowledge of Arabic is a
                                distinct advantage</div>

                              <div>This is a full-time position at
                                MiCT’s Berlin Office. Preferred starting
                                date is October 1st or 15th, 2020,
                                initially for a limited period of six
                                months.</div>
