<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><b>"Hoffnung für die Menschenrechte in Mexiko? Erwartungen an die neue Regierung López Obrador"</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">Mexiko hat seit dem 1. Dezember 2018 eine neue Regierung unter Präsident Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Die Erwartungen sind groß: Neben dem Rückgang der Armut und der Gewalt erwarten
die zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen strukturelle Reformen, damit Menschenrechtsverletzungen, Straflosigkeit und Korruption wirksam bekämpft werden können. In Mexiko ist unter den letzten beiden Präsidenten die Gewalt im sogenannten „Krieg gegen die
Drogen“ eskaliert. Insbesondere kritische Journalist*innen und Menschenrechtsverteidiger*innen riskieren durch ihre Arbeit ihr Leben.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt">Was wird die neue Regierung unternehmen, um notwendige Reformen einzuleiten, und wie wird sie besonders gefährdete Personengruppen wirksam schützen?<br>
Auch die deutsche Bundesregierung hat sich in internationalen Vereinbarungen zum Schutz von Menschenrechtsverteidiger*innen und Journalist*innen verpflichtet - welche Maßnahmen ergreift sie in Bezug auf Mexiko?<br>
Diese und weitere Fragen wollen wir im Dialog mit Menschenrechtsverteidiger*innen und Journalist*innen aus Mexiko, Politiker*innen aus Deutschland und mit Ihnen diskutieren.<br>
