Integraler Bestandteil des Programms ist die enge Verknüpfung der wissenschaftlichen Dissertationsprojekte mit spezifischen Problemstellungen von Praxisakteuren, hier vor allem im Bereich der Medienentwicklungszusammenarbeit (MEZ). Als Projektpartner konnten neben der Deutschen Welle, die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung und Konrad- Adenauer-Stiftung, die African Media Initiative (AMI), das Catholic Media Council (CAMECO), Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) und die Fondation Hirondelle gewonnen werden. Die Zusammenarbeit umfasst neben der gemeinsamen Dissertationsbetreuung einen bis zu einjährigen Aufenthalt bei der jeweiligen Partnerinstitution.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Zur Analyse gegenwärtiger Medienentwicklungskooperationen und zum Entwurf möglicher Promotionsvorhaben lassen sich folgende Aspekte, Tendenzen und MEZ-Kontexte zur Orientierung aufführen: a) Fragmentation von Akteuren, Instrumenten etc., b) Staatliche Fragilität, c) Securitization, d) Public Diplomacy, e) Digitale Transformation, f) Politische Ökonomie von Kommunikation, g) Paradigmenrivalität, h) Evaluation und Methoden, i) Kommunikation und sozialer/politischer Wandel, j) Konstruktiver Journalismus/ Friedensjournalismus sowie die k) Effektivität/ Legitimität der MEZ. An integral part of the program is the close connection of scientific dissertation projects with specific problems of practitioners, especially in the field of media development assistance (MDA). Future project partners will be Deutsche Welle Academy, Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, African Media Initiative (AMI), Catholic Media Council (CAMECO), Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) and Fondation Hirondelle.
