The community radio station Joseph founded in 2006 in rural north-west Tanzania, Fadeco Radio, airs agricultural, health and information programmes to up to six million listeners in Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda, all in the Swahili language. Fadeco has also pioneered alternative funding approaches for regional radio in Tanzania, thanks mainly to the innovative approaches of founder Joseph. </div><div>Joseph Sekiku is also the head of COMNETA, the Community Media Network of Tanzania, an association for community media in Tanzania. COMNETA unites more than two dozen small, ´mainly rural, community media entities under one umbrella, allowing them to share resources and content.
