Europäische Union gab die Produktion in der Region Plateau State in Auftrag, die
GIZ setzte das Projekt um.<br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;"> <br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;">Gewaltsame Konflikte erschüttern immer
wieder den Bundesstaat Plateau State und seine Hauptstadt Jos im Zentrum
Nigerias. Erst vergangenen Mai verübte das Terrornetzwerk Boko Haram erneut
einen heftigen Bombenanschlag in der Innenstadt. Mikrofinanz soll in diesem
Umfeld einen kleinen Beitrag zur Begrenzung des Konfliktes leisten. Die EU will
die Wirtschaft an ihren Wurzeln fördern, um durch verbesserte Lebenschancen für
die einfache Bevölkerung der Gewalt den Nährboden zu nehmen.<br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;"> <br></span><span lang="DE" style="line-height: 150%;">‚E Go Better’ richtet sich in erster
Linie an lokale Bauern, Kleinwarenhändler oder Straßenköche </span><span lang="DE" style="line-height: 150%;">–</span><span lang="DE" style="line-height: 150%;"> Menschen, die mit kleinen Krediten von
100 - 500 EUR wichtige Investitionen tätigen können. Das sind auch meist Leute,
die Banken skeptisch gegenüberstehen, kaum formal gebildet sind und mit dem
Thema erst einmal gar nichts anfangen können. „Wir haben uns lange den Kopf
zerbrochen, wie wir die Filme so machen können, dass sie überhaupt für die
Leute interessant sind,“ sagt Maryam Imogie, die junge Produktionsleiterin der
Serie. „Dann haben wir uns entschieden, den Schwerpunkt auf eine mitreißende Story
zu legen und die Messages eher beiläufig einzuweben.“<br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;"> <br></span><span lang="DE" style="line-height: 150%;">So entstand eine Geschichte über die
unmögliche Liebesbeziehung zwischen einem Christ und einer Muslima </span><span lang="DE" style="line-height: 150%; font-family: Symbol;">-</span><span lang="DE" style="line-height: 150%;">
dem mittellosen Bauern Mangai und Azizah, der bezaubernden Tochter von
Chief-Alhaji. Nur wenn Mangai etwas aus sich macht, hat die Liebe überhaupt
eine Chance. Mikrofinanz könnte ihm dabei helfen.<br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;"> <br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;">Mit wenigen Ausnahmen waren alle Rollen
mit Laiendarstellern besetzt, teilweise einfach mit Leuten, die sich selbst
spielten. „Authentizität war uns sehr wichtig“, begründet Maryam. Auch hinter
der Kamera waren größtenteils junge Talente versammelt, Studenten und
Absolventen aus einer der beiden Film-und Fernsehinstitute in Jos.<br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;"> <br></span><span style="line-height: 150%;">Unmittelbar nach Abschluss der
Produktion ging die Serie in Plateau State auf Vorführungstournee. GIZ-Nigeria
nutzte die Gelegenheit für Testzwecke. „Wir wollten herausfinden, wie unser
Zielpublikum auf die Filme reagiert“, erklärt Finanzexperte Abel Dassah, der
die Events moderierte. Für diesen Zweck konzipierte das GIZ-Team einen Fragenkatalog
für jede Episode. „Anhand der Antworten konnten wir feststellen, wie viel die Zuschauer
von den Inhalten tatsächlich verstehen.“ Das Ergebnis fiel positiv aus. Seitdem
