Auf <a href="http://www.wefightcensorship.org" target="_blank">www.wefightcensorship.org</a> sind Artikel und Videos zugänglich, die in bestimmten Ländern nicht in den Medien auftauchen oder für die ihre Urheber verfolgt werden. Wir setzen damit auf den Streisand-Effekt: Je stärker Zensoren versuchen, manche Informationen zu unterdrücken, desto weiter verbreiten sie sich. Ob Videos über die tödliche Explosion in einem turkmenischen Waffenlager oder Polizeigewalt in Belarus, ob eine Rede des iranischen Revolutionsführers oder eine verbotene Zeitung in Kuba – auf <a href="http://www.wefightcensorship.org" target="_blank">www.wefightcensorship.org</a> steht, was autoritäre Machthaber lieber verschwiegen hätten. Die Seite ist so gestaltet, dass sie leicht kopiert werden kann.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Gleichzeitig zum Projektstart haben wir Internetnutzer in aller Welt aufgerufen, die Seite zu spiegeln, damit es möglichst viele Kopien der zensierten Inhalte gibt. Außerdem können Nutzer selbst Inhalte einreichen. Dazu steht auf der Seite ein Formular bereit, das durch sichere Übertragungswege die Identität der Absender schützt. Wir veröffentlichen jedoch kein Rohmaterial, wir prüfen die eingereichten Informationen und wenn wir Artikel oder Videos online stellen, erklären wir den Zusammenhang, in dem sie aufgetaucht sind und warum sie zensiert wurden. Die Seite ist also kein zweites Wikileaks,<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Die neue Seite fügt sich ein in unsere langjährigen Aktivitäten im Kampf gegen Internetzensur: Wir kopieren schon seit einer Weile Internetseiten verfolgter Medien auf unserem Reporter ohne Grenzen-Server (einen Überblick über die von uns gespiegelten Seiten - u.a. aus dem Kaukasus und Zentralasien, aus Eritrea oder Dschibuti - gibt es hier: <a href="http://tinyurl.com/ctk3t7p">http://tinyurl.com/ctk3t7p</a>), damit diese zugänglich bleiben, wenn die Originalseiten durch Zensoren lahm gelegt werden. Auf We Fight Censorship klären wir Journalisten nun außerdem über den Umgang mit Verschlüsselungstechniken auf. Einen Ort, an dem zensiertes Material veröffentlicht wird, gab es hingegen bisher noch nicht.
